Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 July 2025  ·  Effective: 1 July 2025

These terms apply to all services provided by Tickfold Atelier. By engaging our services or submitting an enquiry, you agree to be bound by them.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an enquiry, attending an assessment appointment, or approving a written assessment, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of Malaysia. Submitting a contact form on this website does not in itself constitute an agreement to proceed with any service.

3. Service Description

Tickfold Atelier provides three workshop services for mechanical timepieces: Case & Bracelet Refinishing, Self-Winding Movement Service, and Collection Assessment & Care Plan. Services are carried out at the workshop premises at 32 Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya. We do not carry out quartz movement work, battery replacement, or remote/postal service.

Service availability is subject to workshop capacity. We may decline to accept a piece if assessment indicates the work falls outside our scope or cannot be carried out safely.

4. Appointment and Assessment

All services begin with a brief assessment appointment. No work is agreed or commenced before a written assessment has been issued and approved by the Client. The written assessment sets out: the scope of work, the estimated duration, and the agreed price. If assessment results in a recommendation not to proceed, no charge is made for the assessment.

Approval of the written assessment (in writing or by verbal confirmation recorded in the job file) constitutes the Client's instruction to proceed.

5. Payment

Currency and pricing

All prices are quoted and charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Prices are as stated in the written assessment issued to the Client. The published prices on the website are indicative and may vary depending on the specific condition of the piece.

Payment terms

Payment is due in full upon collection of the piece. We accept cash and bank transfer. A receipt is issued at the time of payment.

Changes to scope

If, during service work, findings emerge that require a change in scope or additional cost, the Client will be contacted and a revised written assessment issued before further work proceeds. No additional charges will be incurred without Client approval.

Cancellation

A Client may cancel an approved assessment and decline to proceed with service work at any time before work has commenced. Once work has commenced, cancellation may be subject to a partial charge for time and materials already expended, as set out in the written assessment.

6. Service Delivery and Timelines

Estimated turnaround times are provided in the written assessment. These are estimates and not guaranteed completion dates. Actual turnaround may vary based on parts availability and workshop queue. We will notify you if there is a material change to the expected timeline.

The Atelier will contact the Client when the piece is ready for collection. Pieces not collected within 30 days of notification will incur a storage charge of RM 10 per week. Pieces uncollected after 6 months may, after reasonable notice, be treated as abandoned.

7. Labour Coverage

Self-Winding Movement Service work is backed by a 12-month labour coverage period commencing from the date of collection. If a fault arising directly from the service work occurs within this period, the Atelier will re-examine and rectify the fault at no additional labour charge. This coverage does not apply to: damage caused by impact, water ingress (unless the case was pressure-tested and sealed as part of the service), or further wear unrelated to the service work carried out.

Coverage terms are confirmed in writing at handover. Case and Bracelet Refinishing and Collection Assessment services do not carry a labour coverage period unless separately agreed in writing.

8. Client Responsibilities

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, and design — is the property of Tickfold Atelier or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website for commercial purposes without written permission.

The Collection Assessment document and digital inventory produced for a Client are the Client's own records and may be used freely by the Client. They may not be reproduced for commercial purposes or attributed to the Atelier without permission.

10. Disclaimers

All services are provided on the basis of the condition of the piece at the time of intake. We cannot guarantee specific outcomes where the condition of a piece limits what is achievable. Written assessments will state clearly what is and is not expected from the work.

The Collection Assessment Care Plan is provided for informational and planning purposes. It is not a valuation, appraisal, or insurance document, and should not be relied on as such without independent verification.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability to you in respect of any service is limited to the price paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, or for loss of use, loss of value, or sentimental loss.

We take reasonable care of all pieces in our custody. In the unlikely event of damage occurring while a piece is in our care, liability is limited to the assessed repair or replacement cost of the affected component, up to the declared value of the piece at intake.

12. Dispute Resolution

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will first be addressed through direct communication between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may refer it to the Consumer Claims Tribunal of Malaysia (for eligible disputes) or to the courts of Selangor, Malaysia.

13. General Provisions

Entire agreement: These Terms together with the written assessment constitute the entire agreement between the parties for each service engagement.

Severability: If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in future.

Assignment: We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor entity. You may not assign your rights without our written consent.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
