Methodology

How work proceeds at the atelier

01

Appointment and intake

A short appointment is arranged. The piece is received, logged, and examined before any discussion of work scope or cost.

02

Written assessment

A written assessment sets out what is possible, what is recommended, and the expected duration and cost. If work is inadvisable, that is documented and returned with no charge.

03

Work and handover

On approval, work proceeds. A timing record, parts list (where applicable), and service notes are provided at handover alongside the piece.

Service 01

Case & Bracelet Refinishing

Assessment of original surface geometry, followed by removal of scratches and dings by hand, restoration of brushed grain and polished chamfers to their factory lines, and re-fitting of bracelet links, pins, and clasp. Bracelet stretch is measured and worn pins replaced. Undertaken only where enough material remains to work safely; where a case is thin or a bevel is soft, the recommendation will be to leave it alone, and that recommendation is given in writing. Typical duration is 2–3 weeks.

  • Surface geometry assessed before any material is removed
  • Brushed grain and polished chamfers restored by hand
  • Bracelet pins, stretch, and clasp addressed
  • Written "do not proceed" if material is insufficient

Service 03

Collection Assessment & Care Plan

A structured review for owners with several pieces in rotation. Each watch is inspected, timed, pressure-tested where rated, and photographed. The result is a written plan setting out which pieces need attention now, which can wait, and roughly when. Includes storage and winding recommendations appropriate to a humid climate, a digital inventory with reference and serial records, and one follow-up consultation six months later. The plan carries no obligation to have any of the recommended work done here.

Standards

Protocols applied across all services

Measurement before action

Each piece is measured and documented before any intervention. Timing results, power reserve readings, and surface condition are recorded.

Client data security

Inventory records, photographs, and personal information are stored in a secured system. Collection Assessment data is not shared outside the atelier.

Written output at each stage

Assessment, parts list, service notes, timing results, and care plan are all documented and provided to the client in writing at handover.
